SDC282 Blue Only

So, really you guys, this was a tough challenge for me. I am not a huge fan of most shades of blue. I lean more toward teal and green. However, once the project got rolling, it wasn't as hard as I anticipated.

I decided to create a gift box and use our new Flos  stamp from our latest release.  Oh, yes, we had a wonderful release this month! The toughest part of this challenge was not using black  for the stamping, but I like how the flowers turned out.

I used various ink sprays to watercolor my blue flowers.  I used Lindy's teal shaker to color texture paste and stenciled the top. I love how it turned out. I tried to create layers as well without creating too much bulk.
I hope that you are inspired to think "outside the box" for this week's color challenge. Don't let it leave you feeling blue! Be sure to check out the rest of the design team as there is a lot of inspiration to go around. We have such amazing artists! And, also, join us to win some stamps!

Word Up Weekend

So, I got this idea in my head and I had to create it. Honestly,it turned out even better in real life. Don't you love it when that happens??  I have had this old wannabe Altoid tin for pretty much forever and never really had any inspiration until I was on Pinterest. Man, don't you love Pinterest?

So, this month we had a release over at Stampotique and this "Black-Eyed" girl was perfect for a spooky shadow box. And, of course, the sentiment was just right for her. And, since Halloween just just around the corner, what is one more decoration to have sitting around the house?
I recently have been loving creating paper beads and this project lent itself to more! I made them longer and used them as a base for my sentiment. The bewitching invitation is from Teresa Collins (see below). I used lots of washi tape and decorative papers to create a lot of layers and interest.

Be sure to hop over to Stampotique's Facebook page for more sentimental projects! It IS Word Up Weekend, after all! Have a wonderful and inspired weekend!

Word Up Mail Art

Howdy! Back again with some more wise words and some fun mail art for Word Up Weekend over at Stampotique! I used this new stamp from our release yesterday, "Dog and Kittens". I think the recipient is going to like this image a lot. I used the sentiment from Quotes #1 because I found it amusing with the dog's expression with having the cats hanging all over him.

I used Tim Holtz Distress Inks to watercolor the envelope and the image both. A few splatters for some character. I love using messy splatters.

I really hope the recipient is happy to receive this envelope and the ATCs that will go in it. Be sure to hop over to our Facebook page to see more Word Up Weekend goodies!
